Netanyahu Orders Lawyers to File Libel Suit Over UAE Warning Report

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he instructed his lawyers to file a libel suit against Haaretz, journalist Shlomi Eldar and others over a report that the UAE president warned him about a Hamas move before October 7. Netanyahu denied that any such call occurred from early September through October 7. He said checks by the Prime Minister’s Office, National Security Council and military secretariat found no record in his call diary. Netanyahu also said calls from the Emirati leader are conducted through an encrypted device brought by an Emirati representative and are documented.
