Netanyahu Prays at Western Wall for Israel Before Rosh Hashanah

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of Benjamin Netanyahu and a bearded man standing at a wooden lectern and looking down at an open prayer book, with passersby in the softly rendered interior behind them, drawn in warm ochre and slate-blue pastel with cross-hatching on sepia newsprint.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Western Wall on Thursday evening ahead of Rosh Hashanah. Accompanied by Western Wall Heritage Foundation CEO Mordechai “Suli” Eliav, he recited a chapter of Psalms at the holy site. Netanyahu prayed for the success of the State of Israel and for the safety of IDF soldiers and security personnel. He also asked that the coming year be good and blessed for Israel’s citizens. The visit came hours before the holiday began, and the Western Wall Heritage Foundation supplied footage of it.
