Tel Aviv and Community Rabbis Reach Court-Backed Selichot Agreement

Tel Aviv-Yafo’s municipal administration and the Community Rabbis Association reached an agreement that the Tel Aviv District Court gave the force of a judgment, allowing a disputed Selichot gathering to proceed at Tel Baruch Beach. Preparations are scheduled to begin Saturday night at 23:00, followed by the central prayers and hatarat nedarim at 00:15. The association petitioned after the municipality conditioned the event on having no physical means of gender separation, arguing that the condition prevented prayer according to halacha and harmed religious freedom.
