Ashdod Opens Coastal Duathlon for Adult and Youth Competitors

Ashdod’s city government, municipal sports authority and the Israeli Triathlon Association opened a coastal duathlon at Beersheba Beach on Friday morning for adult and youth competitors. Olympic adult waves began at 06:20 on a 9,750-meter run, 38.5-kilometer bicycle leg and 4,350-meter closing run. Sprint and youth divisions followed, with younger competitors starting from 09:00. Organizers used electronic chip timing and named Hadr Ben Dror as competition director, Shuli Martinez as technical controller and Ronen Shaked as chief judge. Southern parking access was restricted until roads were expected to reopen around 10:30.
