Microsoft's newly released 2026 Digital Defense Report ranks Israel second among countries where its customers were most frequently affected by cyber threats in January–June 2026. Israel accounted for 7.6% of the observed impact, behind the United States at 25.5%, followed by Ukraine at 4.8% and Taiwan at 3.9%. The ranking reflects Microsoft's telemetry, rather than a count of every cyberattack worldwide. Separately, Israel represented 39% of targeted-country activity attributed to Iran-linked actors in Microsoft's nation-state notification data. The report describes Iranian operations involving espionage, persistent access and disruptive or destructive attacks.
