Paran Brigade’s deputy commander said drone smuggling along Israel’s border with Egypt had fallen sharply, with fewer incidents detected as forces strike drones and operate more proactively. Lt. Col. D., identified by an initial in the interview, said troops treat unidentified drones as hostile because they cannot determine their purpose. He said forces prepare for extreme scenarios despite the peaceful border. The Paran Brigade is part of Division 80, which also includes the Yoav formation responsible for Eilat and the Arava frontier with Jordan.
