U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff accused Israeli forces of violating the laws of armed conflict and international humanitarian law during an October 8 Senate debate against Representative Mike Collins in Doraville, Georgia. Ossoff said he cared deeply about Israel’s security and had family there, while defending his votes on weapons transfers. Asked whether he would support a $2.8 billion weapons package for Israel, he did not give a direct yes or no. In a separate exchange on Iran, Collins defended preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, saying it threatened both Israel and the United States.
