Nazareth Police Officer Details Intermediaries' Role in Child Begging

Nazareth municipal-policing officer Tal Crispin said police suspect intermediaries assign women to intersections around Nazareth, Wadi Ara and Ahihud and take part of their begging proceeds. In a newly published interview, he said investigation findings indicate some women can collect up to NIS 3,000 a day. Police also found children aged four to five begging and assess that they hand money to adults who send them to intersections. The disclosures follow an earlier northern-district police and Border Police operation in which more than 40 people unlawfully present in Israel were detained.
