Police Arrest Suspect and Seize Firearms After Fatal Rahat Shooting

Police said they arrested a Rahat resident in his twenties on suspicion of involvement in an afternoon shooting that killed another man in his twenties. Sahar Brigade personnel recovered a pistol and magazine at the scene; an earlier search of a nearby compound in an open area uncovered an M16 rifle and ammunition. Southern District commander Haim Bublil assigned the case to the district’s central investigative unit. Police said preliminary findings point to a criminal dispute between families that began with a brawl and escalated to gunfire. The suspect was taken for further questioning, and the investigation continues.
