Police Arrest Two Central Suspects in Hussein Issa Murder

Israel Police said covert forces arrested two central suspects overnight in Hebron in the June 30 killing of Hussein Issa, 22, in Jerusalem’s Silwan neighborhood. Issa’s brother was moderately wounded in the shooting. After several weeks of covert work, Jerusalem District investigators identified suspects who had fled the scene, and Gideonim Unit 33 of Lahav 433 and Hitz Yehuda personnel tracked the two East Jerusalem residents, both in their twenties, to a hiding place. The suspects were questioned on suspicion of murder and were due before the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court, while police continued searching for additional suspects.
