IAI Announces POINT@AIR Aerostat Radar Ahead of U.S. Army Exhibition

Israel Aerospace Industries has announced POINT@AIR, a radar mounted on a compact tethered aerostat, ahead of its planned presentation at the Association of the United States Army exhibition in Washington, D.C., this week. The company says the elevated platform extends radar line of sight beyond terrain and ground-level obstacles. Based on its ELM-2083 radar family, the system combines electronic beam steering with mechanical rotation for 360-degree coverage. IAI says it can track aerial, maritime and ground targets and feed information into command-and-control systems, while operating without permanent infrastructure.
