Zvi Sukkot Demands Lawyer Access for Two Shin Bet Detainees

MK Zvi Sukkot said Monday that he sent an urgent letter to Shin Bet director David Zini demanding lawyer access for two detainees. In the October 12 letter, he described them as a community security coordinator and a career IDF officer, saying they had been prevented from meeting counsel since their arrest on Saturday. He requested lawyer meetings, removal of restrictions without concrete, lawful and proportionate justification, and a detailed explanation of interrogation measures. The letter acknowledged the agency’s responsibility for state security while arguing that its interrogation powers must be exercised with restraint and respect for fundamental rights.
