MDA Youth Volunteer Describes Giving CPR After Northern Israel School-Trip Blast

Yair Frankental, a 15-year-old Magen David Adom youth volunteer, described on October 13 how he gave CPR after an unexploded-munition blast during a school trip near Israel's northern border the previous day. He said he was lightly injured but checked who needed help while other boys called the emergency hotline. According to his account, a seriously injured boy had no pulse and was not breathing, and he performed CPR until an MDA responder arrived. His younger brother also suffered shrapnel injuries. Frankental said a friend followed his instructions to stop his brother's bleeding while he assisted someone more seriously injured.
