UK Announces Public Inquiry Into Deaths in Manchester Synagogue Attack

British Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood announced a public inquiry into the deaths of Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby at the request of the coroner. The two men died in the terrorist attack at Heaton Park synagogue in Manchester during Yom Kippur in October 2025, which also left three others seriously injured. The inquiry will allow sensitive national-security material to be considered that could not otherwise be fully heard in the coroner’s court. Announcing the decision to the House of Commons on October 12, Mahmood said what happened that day must be fully understood.
