UK police charged Salam Ahmadyan, 36, of Liverpool, and Rahman Salehi, 34, of Salford, on October 2 with preparing terrorist acts targeting Manchester’s Jewish community. The two Iranian nationals were charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 after Crown Prosecution Service authorization. Police allege they obtained explosive components, researched targets and conducted reconnaissance, and contacted an overseas third party who may be in Iran. Arrested on September 20, both were remanded to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 3. Police said they believed there was no ongoing threat connected with the case.
