Interministerial Report Recommends New Negev Enforcement and Integration Measures

An interministerial team examining links between Negev Bedouin communities and Palestinians in Judea and Samaria and Gaza has proposed 39 measures covering enforcement and integration. Its recommendations include reviewing citizenship eligibility in specified cases involving an unlawfully resident parent or a polygamous household, alongside stronger enforcement against unlawful residence. The report also proposes biometric identity checks at crossings and wider information sharing between agencies. It calls for expanding Israeli higher-education opportunities for Bedouin youth while examining recognition of Palestinian medical and paramedical degrees. The proposals require review and decisions by the competent authorities and do not constitute adopted government policy.
