Ichilov Details AI System for Medical Record Coding

Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv has detailed an AI system that helps staff code and check patients' medical records, developed with Elad Systems and AWS Israel. Work began in May 2025, and the system went live in September 2026. It cross-checks clinical information and suggests diagnosis and procedure codes to medical-record staff in real time, replacing work with an older reference containing 18,000 codes. The system is intended to reduce routine tasks, improve record quality and support research; no measured improvement in clinical outcomes was disclosed.
