IDF and Shin Bet Disclose Killing Hamas Operative Who Helped Plan Fatal Tank Attack

The IDF and Shin Bet said on Wednesday that an airstrike in the Gaza City area on Sunday killed Musa Abd Muhammad Hamuda, a Nukhba operative in Hamas’s military wing. The agencies said he helped plan an explosive-device attack on 8 September 2025 that killed four soldiers from the 52nd Battalion’s tank crew. They identified the fallen soldiers as Lt. Matan Abramovich, Sgt. Amit Aryeh Regev, Staff Sgt. Uri Lamed and Sgt. Gadi Kutal. According to the joint statement, Hamuda had recently worked to organize attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and rebuild Hamas’s military capabilities.
