National Security Ministry Expands Firearm-License Eligibility to 11 Samaria Communities

The National Security Ministry approved residence-based eligibility for private firearm-license applications in 11 Samaria communities on Thursday, including Homesh, Ganim, Kadim and Har Bezek. Residents must still satisfy the other licensing conditions, so the designation does not itself grant a license. The ministry said the expansion was intended to strengthen residents’ ability to defend themselves and respond to security emergencies. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir welcomed the addition of northern Samaria communities and sought further additions, while Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan linked the decision to preparedness and lessons from October 7.
