Bennett Accuses Government of Dismantling IDF From Within

Former prime minister Naftali Bennett accused the government Sunday night of deciding to dismantle the IDF from within after Defense Minister Israel Katz announced a change at Central Command. Bennett said the government had already weakened the military by enabling mass draft evasion and was now creating internal chaos. He urged active-duty troops, reservists and commanders to hold on, saying political reinforcement was coming. Katz had announced that Maj. Gen. David Bar Kalifa would succeed Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, while the IDF said Bluth remained in command and no immediate change had taken effect.
