Trump Says Iran War Will End Soon but Wants a Lasting Outcome

U.S. President Donald Trump said at a campaign rally in South Carolina on Wednesday that the war with Iran would end soon, while arguing that Washington wanted a lasting result before ending its military operations. He said the United States could leave immediately but wanted its achievements to endure. Trump credited Operation Midnight Hammer and Operation Epic Fury with destroying Iran’s nuclear-enrichment capacity and said Iran would never obtain a nuclear weapon. These were his assessments of the campaign; he did not give a precise timetable for ending the conflict.
