Israel’s Mortgage Balances Over 90 Days in Arrears Rise to NIS 4.227 Billion

The outstanding balance of Israeli mortgages more than 90 days in arrears rose to NIS 4.227 billion in September, compared with NIS 4.102 billion in August. That is an increase of NIS 125 million, or about 3%, in the value of loans classified in this overdue category. The September figure was below the NIS 4.327 billion recorded in the same month a year earlier. In July, the balance had stood at NIS 4.239 billion. The measure excludes mortgages whose payments are only one or two months late.
