R4 Ministers Call for Two-State Solution and Full Hormuz Reopening

The foreign ministers of Türkiye, Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia met in Istanbul on October 23 and urged an early two-state solution. Their joint statement backed a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and called for uninterrupted Gaza aid. The ministers also condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi civilians and commercial shipping in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb. On the conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, they urged dialogue, protection of civilians and vessels, and the swift, full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to safe, unobstructed navigation.
