UK and Oman Reaffirm Two-State Solution in New Joint Statement

The United Kingdom and Oman reaffirmed their support for a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians in a joint statement published on October 23, following Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s October 20–22 state visit. They described that approach as the basis for a just and lasting peace between Israel and Palestine. The two governments also committed to closer cooperation on conflict prevention, peaceful dispute resolution, humanitarian responses and multilateral engagement. On regional shipping, they reaffirmed Oman’s sovereignty over its waters in the Strait of Hormuz, alongside maritime security, freedom of navigation and the safe passage of international shipping.
