Chikli Frames Election as Choice Over Israel’s Jewish National Character

Amichai Chikli warned that the election would determine whether Israel remained a Jewish nation-state or moved toward a de facto binational state. In a Hebrew post on October 24, he linked the latter possibility to political partnerships with Arab parties. He criticized Yair Golan and members of Golan’s party for supporting such cooperation, and accused Naftali Bennett, Gadi Eisenkot and Avigdor Liberman of having already pursued it. Chikli urged voters to support Likud and right-wing bloc parties certain to clear the electoral threshold, arguing that this would prevent the coalition outcome he opposed.
