Bnei Brak Workers’ Committee Renews Call for Delayed Kindergarten Opening

Bnei Brak’s municipal workers’ committee renewed its call Sunday for a delayed kindergarten opening, while the municipality urged a normal start. Committee chairman Nechemia Shkedi said children should be received at 09:30 on Monday, October 26, with staff attendance reporting from 09:00. The committee alleges that attendance-reporting changes and substitute assignments could harm pay and kindergarten operations. The municipality disputes that account, says assistants’ pay has been preserved and replacements come from its existing pool, and is continuing recruitment amid staffing shortages. No agreement was reported, and the threatened disruption has not yet occurred.
