Health Ministry Appoints 2027 Health Basket Committee With NIS 650 Million Budget

The Health Ministry announced on October 25 that the public committee recommending additions to the 2027 health-services basket had been appointed, with NIS 650 million available. It will assess hundreds of new medicines and medical technologies using medical, professional, social and economic considerations. Prof. Dina Ben-Yehuda, who heads Hadassah Medical Center’s Hematology Division, will chair the committee. Prof. Osnat Luxenburg, head of the ministry’s Medical Technologies, Information and Research Division, will coordinate its work. Health Minister Haim Katz said access to advanced treatment should not depend on patients’ financial means.
