Eisenkot Warns Supporters Against Assuming Netanyahu’s Defeat

Gadi Eisenkot urged supporters at Yashar’s Sunday evening campaign rally in Tel Aviv to keep persuading voters until polls close on Tuesday, warning that political change was not assured. He alleged that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would use falsehoods and extreme measures to remain in office. Eisenkot appealed to Likud and other coalition voters to reconsider their support, and said Yashar needed a clear lead over Likud because a tie would help Netanyahu argue for another term. In his own account of the rally, Eisenkot pledged honesty with voters and responsibility for successes and failures.
