Evinced Manager Says AI Agent Ran Nearly 60 Hours at a Cost of About $15,000

In a guest column published Sunday, Evinced’s infrastructure-group manager said an AI agent he assigned to an infrastructure fault ran for almost 60 hours and accumulated about $15,000 in costs. In his account, the agent followed a mistaken line of investigation from the outset, and he accepted responsibility for not stopping it to reassess its assumptions. He argued that developers using AI agents must retain engineering judgment and demand tests and evidence. Evinced develops AI tools for digital accessibility on websites and mobile applications, the column said.
