IDF Says It Killed Terrorist Who Crossed Yellow Line in Southern Gaza

The IDF said on October 27 that soldiers operating in southern Gaza killed a terrorist who crossed the Yellow Line earlier that day. According to the army, the soldiers identified the crossing and killed him immediately to remove the threat. The announcement did not identify the person or specify his organizational affiliation. The army said its forces remain deployed in the area under Southern Command, in accordance with the agreement. The IDF said they “will continue to act to remove any immediate threat.” Its statement described the response to this crossing without naming a particular locality or unit involved in the incident. The incident followed two separate crossings reported by the IDF on October 24. Those encounters took place the previous day, October 23, in northern and southern Gaza. In each case, the army said soldiers identified a terrorist crossing the Yellow Line and killed him to remove the threat. In an earlier operational statement on October 15, the IDF said engineering forces working with the Yahalom unit sealed and destroyed an underground route about 1.5 kilometers long in southern Gaza. The army said the route crossed the Yellow Line area and contained rooms used by Hamas terrorists. That statement described Southern Brigade operations against terrorist infrastructure in the area.
