IDF Discloses Weapons Find in Civilian Home and Drone Depot in Southern Lebanon
Published
The IDF disclosed on November 1 that troops operating in southern Lebanon had found weapons inside a civilian home and located a separate storage facility for explosive drones. Its statement described activity by the 769th Brigade, operating under the 91st Division, against terrorist infrastructure in the Al-Khiam area. The army said the operations were intended to remove threats to Israeli civilians. During searches of the home, troops also found a children's room bearing symbols associated with Hezbollah, according to the military. The statement placed the weapons in the civilian home, without saying they were inside the children's room. It separately reported that troops had located and dismantled the explosive-drone storage facility. The army listed rockets, Kalashnikov rifles, helmets, vests, ammunition and explosive drones among the additional weapons and equipment found during the operations. The military said it “remains committed to the ceasefire agreement.” It described the brigade's activity as taking place in the security zone in southern Lebanon and said it would continue operating to remove threats and prevent harm to Israeli civilians or IDF troops. The disclosure did not specify when the searches took place or give quantities for the weapons found.
