Ambassador Modi Ephraim visited StandWithUs in Los Angeles for discussions about the organization's educational work and responses to antisemitism, according to an account published by Israel's consulate in the city on November 2. He met founders Roz Rothstein and Esther Renzer, who briefed him on the organization's latest initiatives and programs, before joining its Los Angeles team for a wider discussion. Ephraim opened the team meeting with a briefing on developments in Israel and the region. The participants then discussed their respective work and priorities. The consulate said: “The Ambassador was particularly inspired by StandWithUs’ educational outreach and its commitment to students and youth.” It described his view that education beginning at the youngest age is among the most powerful responses to rising antisemitism. The consulate thanked the team for its work on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people. StandWithUs began in a Los Angeles living room in 2001, after Roz and Jerry Rothstein joined Esther Renzer to establish the organization. The nonprofit focuses on education about Israel and countering delegitimization. Its campus activities have included meetings with students, organizing campaigns and using social media to respond to boycott efforts.
