Orthodox Union Names Rabbis Shmuel Silber and Josh Joseph to Top Roles

The Orthodox Union appointed Rabbi Shmuel Silber as executive vice president, effective November 2, and elevated Rabbi Dr. Josh Joseph from executive vice president and chief operating officer to CEO. Silber will represent the OU’s Torah and public-policy vision and provide hashkafic and halachic guidance, while Joseph will oversee all programs and operations; both will report to the Executive Committee. Silber has led Baltimore’s Suburban Orthodox Congregation Toras Chaim for 23 years and founded the Institute for Jewish Continuity. The OU says its synagogue network includes more than 400 congregations across the United States and Israel.
