Rehovot School Says About 30% of Seniors Are Candidates for Education Ministry Honors

AMIT Madaim in Rehovot said on November 3 that about 30% of its grade-12 students are candidates for the Education Ministry director-general's certificate of excellence. The school held a conference for the candidates ahead of the certificate's award at the end of the 5787 school year. The announcement concerns candidacy, rather than students who have already received the honor. The conference explained the meaning of the distinction and the criteria associated with it. According to the school, excellence combines high academic achievement with persistence, effort and meaningful involvement in the community. The presentation therefore addressed students' contribution beyond their academic performance as well as their work in the classroom. Limor Sadrinas, the upper-school pedagogical coordinator, emphasized determination, self-discipline, responsibility and perseverance alongside learning ability. Her message to the candidates also addressed setting goals and continuing to work toward them. Students were told that being considered for the certificate was itself significant, but that the work needed to receive it was still ahead. The school expressed pride in the candidates and confidence in their ability to continue progressing, and wished them success through the end of the school year.
