MediWound Closes $17.25 Million Share Offering

MediWound, the Yavne-based biotechnology company listed on Nasdaq as MDWD, said on November 5 that it had completed its previously announced public share offering. The transaction raised $17.25 million in gross proceeds, before underwriting discounts, commissions and other offering expenses. The company sold 1,380,000 ordinary shares at $12.50 each. That total includes 180,000 shares purchased through the full exercise of the underwriter’s option to buy additional shares. H.C. Wainwright & Co. served as the sole book-running manager. MediWound said it would use the net proceeds for “working capital and general corporate purposes.” MediWound develops enzymatic treatments for tissue repair. Its NexoBrid product, which removes eschar from thermal burns, has U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval and is marketed in the United States, the European Union, Japan and other markets. The company’s EscharEx treatment for debridement of chronic wounds remains investigational and is in late-stage development. The shares were offered under a Form F-3 shelf registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on March 19, 2025, and declared effective on March 27, 2025. The company said the final prospectus supplement and accompanying prospectus had been filed with the SEC. The stated gross fundraising total does not represent the cash remaining after the offering’s fees and expenses.
