Teva’s U.S. Close Leaves About 2% Gap Above Tel Aviv Price
Teva ended Friday’s U.S. trading session at about $42.61, leaving its New York price roughly 2% above its Tel Aviv closing price after conversion into shekels. The comparison used a Tel Aviv close of NIS 133 and an exchange rate of about NIS 3.19 to the dollar. It describes the difference between prices on the two exchanges, rather than Teva’s percentage gain during the U.S. session. The closing snapshot showed mixed differences among other Israeli companies traded in both markets. Nova’s U.S. price stood about 2.1% above its Tel Aviv close, while Elbit Systems showed a positive difference of about 0.5%. Camtek’s corresponding difference was about minus 2.7%, Tower’s about minus 4.3% and NICE’s about minus 2.8%. Those comparisons use the completed U.S. session and the earlier Tel Aviv closing prices. U.S. benchmarks also finished in different directions: the Nasdaq Composite rose about 1.1% and the S&P 500 gained about 0.3%, while the Dow Jones fell about 0.5%. The Nasdaq 100 advanced about 1.4%, and the Philadelphia semiconductor index rose about 4.2%. The cross-market differences remain a Friday-close snapshot. Exchange-rate changes before Monday’s session can alter the calculations, so the figures do not establish where the shares will actually open in Tel Aviv.
