IDF Troops Ordered to Halt Yellow Line Advance in Gaza and Document Hamas Violations

Israeli troops in the Gaza Strip have been officially instructed not to push the Yellow Line further west, the first such order after months of steady expansion. Soldiers were separately directed to document every Hamas violation of the ceasefire agreement, using their own phones where necessary. The instruction followed a four hour meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US envoy Jared Kushner and Nickolay Mladenov of the Board of Peace for Gaza, held amid American pressure to open the second phase of President Donald Trump's plan. The plan's original line last September left Israel holding slightly more than half of the Strip; the IDF had since reached almost two thirds.
