Yashar Demands Shas Remove Campaign Ad Featuring Soldier

Yashar, led by Gadi Eisenkot, demanded that Shas and Aryeh Deri remove a campaign video featuring a Haredi soldier by 11 a.m. Sunday, alleging improper use of an IDF figure and premature display of Shas’s ballot letters. The ad shows the soldier returning for Friday-night Kiddush and says his yeshiva-student brother studied Torah for him and all IDF soldiers. It also claims more than 30,000 soldiers and career personnel voted Shas in the previous election. Shas said the figure wears no insignia and the video honors soldiers and Torah scholars; Ynet reported it remained online after the deadline.
