British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband said he was confident security cooperation with Israel would continue despite the dispute over Britain's settlement-trade measures. He said the countries maintain important intelligence and security ties and would keep working together against threats from Iran. Miliband called Israel's response regrettable and damaging, while arguing that anticipated retaliation could not prevent Britain from acting. Israel has ordered the British consulate in Jerusalem to close within 30 days, removed UK personnel from the Gaza support center, ended British training of Palestinian Authority security forces and barred 12 MPs.
