EASA Lifts Israel Conflict Zone Bulletin to Medium-Risk Note

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency let its high-risk Conflict Zone Information Bulletin for Israeli airspace expire Wednesday and replaced it with a regional Information Note classifying Israel as medium-risk alongside Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, opening the door for European carriers to reintroduce Ben Gurion service without mandatory security assessments or route restrictions. Bulletins covering Iran, Iraq and Lebanon remain in force, and the agency advised operators to weigh residual risk in their own routing decisions. Low-cost operators including easyJet, Ryanair and WizzAir can now decide independently whether to restore Israel routes. American Airlines remains suspended through January 2027, while Delta and United are expected to return later in 2026.
