Israeli Official on Syria Strikes: Sensitive Intelligence Shared With U.S. in Advance

A senior Israeli official addressed the airstrikes in Syria on Tuesday, saying that highly sensitive intelligence is shared with the United States in advance, at the most senior levels of the various agencies and bodies. The official said Syrian interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa understands that he cannot operate like the previous Syrian regime, which maintained the proxy forces. Reports in the Arab world attributed the strikes to Israel, and the official did not claim responsibility for them. Fighter jets struck the runway and warehouses at the Abu al-Duhur airbase in Idlib without causing casualties, a day after a Turkish military delegation visited the site.
