Turkey Dismisses Israel's Troop-Deployment Claim, Vows to Keep Backing Damascus

Turkey's Directorate of Communications said early Wednesday that the allegations raised by Israel's Prime Minister's Office are frivolous and are meant to legitimize unlawful airstrikes on Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity. It said the accusations stem from Netanyahu's intention to continue expansionist and destabilizing regional policies ahead of Israel's elections, and vowed that Turkey will keep cooperating with the Syrian government and never allow Syria to be destabilized. Israel's Prime Minister's Office said Damascus was about to breach an agreed security status quo by letting Turkish troops deploy at an airbase near Aleppo. The strikes hit the Abu al-Duhur base in Idlib, which Turkey's communications chief condemned on Tuesday.
