Trump Says No Talks With Iran Are Under Way or Scheduled and Calls Hormuz Open

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of a sailor standing armed watch on the forecastle of a guided-missile destroyer during a Strait of Hormuz transit: he stands square at centre in navy-blue coveralls, body armour and a helmet with dark sunglasses, cradling a belt-fed machine gun with a long brass ammunition belt looping down from it, the warship's grey superstructure and lattice radar mast rising behind him at left above a white deck marking, guardrails and the open sea at the right under

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that there are no talks or conversations going on, or scheduled, with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Writing on his Truth Social account, Trump said the naval blockade remains in full force and effect. He said the Strait of Hormuz is open and operating, and that all water mines have been removed or detonated. The post was published at 09:30 Eastern time, 16:30 in Israel. Trump signed the statement with his name and title, thanking readers for their attention to the matter.
