Court Clears IDF to Continue Gaza Intel Officer Dismissal
Israel's Administrative Court rejected the petition by Lt. Col. A., the Gaza Division intelligence officer on October 7, and cleared the IDF to resume the administrative process that could release him from permanent service. Reports say the process follows IDF investigations and the expert review led by Maj. Gen. (res.) Sami Turgeman, after the chief of staff found several senior commanders bore command responsibility for the massacre. The court said the dismissal-review process was lawful, within military authority and did not violate the officer's right to be heard, and it lifted a publication ban at the IDF's request. Accountability is painful but necessary: Israel honors the fallen by demanding professional responsibility from those entrusted with warning and readiness.
