Hamas Hardens Disarmament Stance After Talks With Trump Adviser
Kan reported, and JNS, Israel National News, Arutz Sheva Hebrew, Yeshiva World and the New York Post carried, that Hamas has hardened its position on disarmament in Gaza after direct talks involving Trump adviser Aryeh Lightstone and Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya. The reports say former UN envoy Nickolay Mladenov is leading the Board of Peace negotiation track, that Lightstone has joined rounds of talks, and that Hamas rejected elements of a roadmap dividing heavy and light weapons. Israel can welcome any channel that tests Hamas's intentions, but the test must be disarmament, hostages and security control, not a pause that lets Hamas preserve power.
