IDF Data Shows 28 Smuggling Drones Reached Gaza

Israel National News

Israeli reports citing IDF data say 28 drones have crossed into Gaza since the start of 2026, while 89 additional drone-smuggling attempts were intercepted, for 117 known attempts in roughly six months. The drones came from Egypt and from Israeli territory, and security officials assess that many, possibly most, reached Hamas hands. Captured loads so far were drugs, but the drones themselves are a military asset that could support Hamas surveillance or explosive-drone tactics copied from Hezbollah. The finding underscores why Israel must keep tightening Gaza's perimeter while Hamas tries to rebuild under ceasefire cover.
