High Court Voids Rabello Comptroller Vote

The High Court of Justice voided the Knesset election that chose attorney Michael Rabello as state comptroller and ordered lawmakers to hold a repeat vote. The ruling was reported at 16:27 IDT. The court found the Knesset vote was not a secret ballot, after MKs documented voting behind the curtain, so the June election must be canceled. The ruling protects the independence of a constitutional oversight office while leaving the Knesset to choose the comptroller again under a clean, secret process.
