IDF Lifts Kidnap Concern After Mukhmas Search

Israeli security forces completed a large Mukhmas search Thursday morning and ruled out a kidnapping after all Israelis who entered the Palestinian village were located. Times of Israel says the group, reportedly around 10 Hasidic Jews, had been fleeing police after traffic violations, their vehicle flipped or crashed in Mukhmas, and the IDF all-clear came at 8:56 a.m.; JPost says the car carried nine Israelis. Hebrew reports say the group had earlier entered Nablus without authorization and later left the village independently. The outcome was fortunate, but it underlines a basic rule: unauthorized entries into hostile areas endanger civilians and pull IDF, Shin Bet and police forces into preventable security incidents.
