Jerusalem Man Indicted in Iran Spy Case
Ynet reported at 10:47 IDT that Jerusalem District prosecutors filed an indictment in Jerusalem District Court against Eli Levon, 21, from Jerusalem, for alleged spying for Iran. The indictment says that in late 2025 and early 2026 Levon contacted agents calling themselves "Sina" and "Alexander," who acted for Iranian intelligence, and carried out paid tasks including photographing Jerusalem's Central Bus Station and documenting a building in the Bukharim neighborhood. Earlier police/Shin Bet coverage said the American citizen was arrested June 9 after international security tips and suspected of documenting sensitive sites for Iranian handlers. Israel's security services are right to expose and prosecute these recruitment attempts before Tehran can turn paid errands into attacks.
