Tajik Illegal Resident Indicted for Spying for Iran
The State Prosecutor filed a July 6 indictment in Tel Aviv District Court against Bakhruz Shakhriv Dudovayev, 33, an illegal resident from Tajikistan, alleging espionage for Iran. Prosecutors say he was handled over Telegram from February to June, gathered intelligence on strategic and military infrastructure for cryptocurrency, reported missile-impact locations during Operation Roaring Lion, and photographed Haifa Port and an Elbit Systems plant. Earlier security-services disclosures described the suspect as a Tajik national with a Russian passport who also tried to recruit others for Iranian tasking. The case highlights Tehran's continuing effort to buy local intelligence inside Israel, and why Shin Bet, police and Defense Ministry counterintelligence pressure remains essential after the Iran campaign.
